Hi there, my name is Yashokamini, but you can call me Yash. I am a New York based photographer who has a passion for capturing beauty in my subjects, whether it’s a couple, a child, or a sprawling landscape. I love seeing the satisfaction in the eyes of my subjects while photographing them and while they relive the moments in the way I captured them.

I have been told, by friends and early clients, that I have a natural talent for photography. I was shooting SLRs (single lens reflex) since I was nine years old, back when cameras used actual film. Even at such a tender age I already had a preference of which film stock I would use in my Canon EOS Rebel, Kodak for indoors, and Fuji for outdoors.

After years of honing my skills and switching to digital, I established StillYash Photography in 2015. I have photographed fashion shows, festivals, concerts and even sporting events while maintaining my love for family portraits and special events.

What’s my specialty? I’m glad you asked. My speciality is to make my subjects comfortable in front the camera while respecting their space and being discreet and non-intrusive.

I always say, “You’ve got the smile, I’ve got the camera!
